Beef burritos recipe (burritos de carne)

This basic beef burrito recipe can be done relatively quickly and gives you a good general idea of what a burrito is. All the ingredients are readily available at food stores outside Mexico; generally, when making burritos the ingredients will be easy to find.

Mexican Beef Burrito

Recipe for beef burritos:

Ingredients:

4 large wheat flour tortillas
1 lb. of cooked beef loin, or any favorite beef cut
1 diced red tomato
1 Roman lettuce
1 diced onion
1 cup of cooked rice
1 cup cooked black beans
2 tablespoons of cumin
3 sliced garlic cloves
1/4 cup of olive oil
1 cup of grated Monterey Jack cheese
1 tablespoon coriander powder
guacamole
hot sauce
Salt and pepper to your taste

Preparation:

In this recipe, we will use beef loin for its deep flavor of beef, which you will slice into thin slices.

Cook separately your meat slices, in a bit of olive oil and a pressed-in garlic clove. Add salt and black pepper to the meat slices and cook until medium-done; reserve for later.

In the same frying pan with the oil already hot add the diced tomato at first. Once the tomato has started to dissolve itself drop in the diced onion and the garlic, all previously diced finely. Cook this for a few minutes and add the rice (which is already cooked), the beans and the (already cooked) meat. Mix well.

Now sprinkle the cumin and the coriander over, and mix well. Check seasoning, add salt and pepper if you must, but do not overdo it since this food was already previously cooked and seasoned.

Chop the lettuce to thin slices.  Then place a wheat flour tortilla on a nice and colorful plate and spread two tablespoons of the meat, rice and beans mixture we just did, then lay some lettuce over and then sprinkle some cheese. Fold the tortilla into the typical cylinder shape, then cut the burrito in two. Serve with guacamole and some hot sauce.
